Our local newspaper "Der Pfaffenhofener" published an article which in our opinion is very well written.
Title: The die has been cast!
Stefan Apfl and Michael Motzet have opened a private hotel with a very personal atmosphere
by Lorenz Trapp
Cesar would probably have given a golden die for a relaxing night at the Hotel Alea, when he crossed the rubicon with “alea iacta est" towards Rome. But, not unusual for commanders: wrong time, wrong place. Only recently, and more than two thousand years after Cesar, the “die” is located at Joseph-Fraunhofer-Straße, and for Stefan Apfl and Michael Motzet, Managers of the Hotel Alea, not only the suggested form of a die acted as a model for the name Alea. The “onomatopoetic sound“ also played a role in naming their hotel project.
The rooms, which are filled with light and equipped with modern furniture are all fitted with shower and toilet (with daylight!), WLAN, flatscreen-TV, a desk, safe and hairdryer. The breakfast hall with a height of almost 7 m is the eye-catcher and central area of the hotel. The guests can enjoy an extensive breakfast there. The Hotel Alea hast two hallmarks. On one hand it fulfills the requirements of business travellers. The service is excellent, internet access is available throughout the hotel, the rooms are spacious and clean, breakfast is fresh and extensive. On the other hand the Hotel Alea is also of interest to the residents of Pfaffenhofen. At reasonable prices they can put up their relatives who have come for a family celebration and do not wish to travel home directly after the party. The spacious hall and the function room also offer ideal locations for events and celebrations. „Celebrating and spending the night in the die – a very special experience“, according to Stefan Apfl und Michael Motzet. Anybody who is interested in the possibilities of the Hotel Alea is very welcome to have a look around and will be given an individual tour of the hotel! This also applies to companies who are looking for premises for their training courses. There is no need for guests to buy a pig in a poke.
„Individual flexibility is our strength”, they both emphasize. “If anybody wishes for a cherry stone pillow he will get one!" The fact that the two energy engineers have no previous experience as hotel managers does not dampen their enthusiasm. “We are experienced guests and therefore know, what hotel guests like and expect.” A private hotel with a personal atmosphere” is the demand which those two meet with pleasure. Technical details prove how much they care for the comfort of their guests. The house is ecologically orientated to the greatest possible extent. “Green is not only the dominant colour but also a commitment.” The hotel and its rooms are ventilated through an air fountain, a method which was already used in antiquity to cool down the air in Summer and to warm it up in Winter. It also de-humidifies the air in Summer and in Winter the air is not so dry. The building is heated CO2-neutrally with wood pellets and solar energy.
With the Hotel Alea Stefan Apfl and Michael Motzet make an important contribution to the promotion of tourism. No beds, no tourists, who will benefit from the convenient location of the Alea close to the town centre. Now that the finishing touches have been almost completed, the official opening will follow soon on Sunday, 16th March 2014 with an “open day”. Stefan Apfl and Michael Motzet are looking forward to all those who want to “cast their dice” on that Sunday – even though it is unlikely that Cesar will join them.
